Lipadusa. The gateway to Europe

Wonder Film in collaboration with Rai Cinema presents: LIPADUSA, The Gateway to Europe. The faces and stories of those who live the migration emergency on a daily basis, the testimonies of rescuers, of those who, in their everyday lives, are involved in assisting migrants. Whether for work or volunteer work, Lampedusa offers those who live there the opportunity to confront the reality of migratory flows, the tragedies of the sea but also the stories with happy endings that fortunately dot a reality that we see represented daily in the media but about which, perhaps, we still know too little. Without making judgments but simply recounting the reality of the facts, "Lipadusa" aims to be a document that keeps attention on the issue of migration alive. Through the voices of Pietro Bartolo, the doctor in charge of the Lampedusa Outpatient Clinic, members of the Coast Guard who live and work on the island, CISOM volunteers and the people of Lampedusa, the reportage recounts the daily lives of these unknown people who, out of a spirit of self-sacrifice or simply out of a willingness, do their best to save lives, to give hope to those trying to reach Europe.
